Bluff View Herb Garden

Welcome to our Herb Garden! Located at the corner of Georgia Avenue and 4th Street, this little oasis was added in 1999 and is full of freshly-grown herbs and produce used daily by our chefs at Rembrandt's Coffee House, Tony's Pasta Shop & Trattoria and Back Inn Café!

To date, it produces more than 30 varieties of herbs, vegetables, wild flowers and plants that adorn both the Bluff View grounds as well as accentuate the guest rooms of Bluff View Inn, and provide essential fresh ingredients for its kitchens. This completely organic garden has become an ideal model for Chattanooga's green movement. With trees artfully shaped into Bonsai and botanicals spread throughout, the garden is as beautiful as it is functional.

Flowers includes Daylilies, Black-eyed Susan, January Jasmine, Roses, Jonquils, Poplar trees, Gingko trees, Echinacea, Coneflower, and Hydrangeas of various colors. Varieties of herbs include basil, thyme, rosemary, oregano, sage, mint, tarragon, cilantro, parsley, chives and garlic chives among others. Vegetables include tomatoes, red, green and yellow peppers, grape vines, kale, blue kale, Italian kale and Russian kale. Also growing are hops, arugula, strawberries, blueberries, apples, and pears. Snow peas climb bamboo trellises; romaine, broccoli, onions, beets, spinach, collards, concord grapes...it really is endless what goes on in this flourishing garden.
